Today there are hundreds of options in treatments to give your home a personal look that showcases windows in the best light, literally. Whether you are trying to frame the view or hide it, you can successfully achieve your objectives by choosing one or more applications. Drapery - Drapes come in all shapes and sizes but basically they frame the window when open and shut the light out and give privacy when closed. Besides the obvious function, drapes can be hung above the window facing to make the ceilings appear higher. They also lend color and style as a finishing touch to the room’s decor.

Blinds -  Blinds can be vertical or horizontal and they come in a variety of materials. Typically in the past, most shades worked off of a swivel post that twisted to open or a cord and pull but now you can choose them to be motorized with a remote. There's an app for that!

Shades - Indoor shades usually fit within the window frame and pull down manually or electronically. Gone are the days of plain solid materials. Prints, floral, stripes and more now adorn shade materials making them a fashion statement all on their own. Roman shades have become very popular again and many are choosing to pair them with drapes, especially the natural materials such as bamboo and other wood products. Used outside, they can filter the light on porches and outdoor structures. If you choose motorized, you can get them solar powered as well.
